I now officially have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and another Bachelor of Science in Child Development! Next week I will start working at a daycare. I'm mostly excited about this (although it will be very challenging) because it's going to teach me how to write so much better. I've always noticed that it's really difficult to write children's dialogue. What better way to make sure I do it more realistically than to actually be around children?
It doesn't feel any different yet. People keep asking me how I feel, but it still feels like summer right now. Maybe I'm not quite ready to be an adult yet, but I'll figure it out as I go. It's not like I have much of a choice, is it?
But I'm excited for what's to come next. What's going on in the writing department in my life, you may ask? I'm working on the first draft of a novel in verse called Impact. I'm thinking about querying Surrender, a prequel to Facades. I'm thinking about starting to write yet another novel even though I'm working on another one. Luckily, I have to think of character names first, which is holding me back from starting work on this project right away. A lot is going on, but there's so little time to work! And this is before I start working an 8-to-5 job too.
But hey, if I really do love writing, I'm going to find some way to make time for it. So I'll manage somehow, I suppose. It would help if Waffles stopped eating chocolate and Oreo cookie crumbs. But that's a story for a different day.
Well, that's a short snippet of Jelsa's life! Hopefully I have some stories for you all soon! (I'm going to get CPR-certified pretty soon. Exciting and scary all at the same time!)
Much love, as always.
